Support Leader Dogs for the Blind

In 2014, Chief Financial Credit Union purchased a building in Rochester Hills to relocate their headquarters and open a new branch. One day while checking on the construction at the new building, Tom Dluzen, Chief Financial President and CEO, decided to go for a walk up Rochester Road to scope out the new neighborhood. He found himself walking into the Leader Dog building, introducing himself and started what would become a beautiful partnership.

Soon after, at the official Chief Financial Rochester Branch ribbon cutting in 2015, Tom presented Leader Dogs with a $10,000 check and a promise that Chief would be a true corporate neighbor. Our Chief Financial Community Crew continues to show up to fulfill that promise and has contributed more than $450,000 to Leader Dog!

The passion for helping our communities has been part of the Chief Financial Credit Union since it was established in Pontiac, Michigan, in 1941 to serve Pontiac Motors Employees. Our organization has come a long way from its humble beginnings in a toolbox on the shop floor, but we have never strayed from the original purpose: People Helping People.

Chief Financial Credit Union is committed to empowering financial success and inspiring creative philanthropy. We do this through our financial solutions; like a checking account that rewards members with 5% APY* (86 times the national checking interest rate average) – Kasasa Cash® Rewards Checking – and a credit card that offers 0% interest for the first 6 billing periods and automatic donations to Leader Dogs with every purchase through the Share the Rewards program – Leader Dog Credit Card

At Chief Financial Credit Union, "more than money" is not just a tagline. It is a company culture that we have created and the fuel that drives our mission. Our goal is to inspire strategic partnerships between our employees, members, and community partners. We boldly aim to be forever remembered for the good we did, the chances we gave, the opportunities we created and the lives we changed.

THIS IS AEDAN

“I would never have used the word ‘lucky’ or ‘fortunate’ to describe any aspect of vision loss…until I got my Leader Dog. Thank you for what you do.”

THIS IS LUCY

“It’s affected my life tremendously. I can be more independent. Crossing streets with a cane isn’t always safe. A dog will make sure I’m standing still if it’s not okay to go. I’ll be, basically, more independent, and safer.”
