Chief Financial Spreads Holiday Cheer

(ROCHESTER, MI) -- Chief Financial Credit Union prepares for the holiday season all year long and all the branches have extended that holiday goodwill into the communities they serve.

“We are thrilled and honored to give back to the community during this time of year,” said Brigid Kilcoin, Chief Financial’s marketing manager. “Throughout the year, employees at each branch raise money at activities and events like Jean Day, where employees dress down for a donation. Each branch has raised over $1,000 this year!”

The three Chief Financial branches supported a charity within their own community:

  • The Pontiac branch donated to HAVEN, which is Oakland County’s only comprehensive shelter and program for domestic violence and sexual assault survivors.
  • In Rochester Hills, employees raised $1,100 in gift cards for Neighborhood House. Neighborhood House provides over 3,000 households each year with meals, school supplies, financial assistance, transportation, and more.
  • The Dearborn location sponsored a local family through The Dearborn Goodfellows. The Goodfellows is an organization which provides year-round assistance to children and organized the No Child Without Christmas campaign, which ensures that every child has presents to unwrap on Christmas morning.

Chief Financial is committed to helping members of the communities served find ways to live better lives each day.

As the only financial institution headquartered in Rochester, Chief Financial has always enjoyed a tight-knit relationship with the community. Chief decided to give back this year to the city where many of its members live and work by sponsoring the Rochester DDA’s yearly gift certificate giveaway alongside Consumers Energy. On December 2, shoppers who purchased a $50 Downtown Rochester gift certificate received an additional $50 gift certificate for free. The certificates could be used to make purchases at local businesses.

“We’re proud to call Rochester home, and we know it’s been a challenging year for many of our small businesses,” said CFCU president and CEO Tom Dluzen. “We wanted to lend support during the holiday season any way that we could.”

“Our gift card giveaway wouldn’t have been possible without Chief Financial’s involvement,” said Rochester DDA Executive Director Kristi Trevarrow. “Chief is a true partner in our community, and we look forward to their branch expansion into downtown Rochester in 2022.”
