As the government shutdown leaves thousands of federal employees without paychecks, Chief Financial Credit Union is opening its doors to help workers navigate financial uncertainty.
“We understand the stress of watching bills pile up while your paycheck disappears,” said Tom Dluzen, CEO of Chief Financial Credit Union. “Whether you’ve been banking with us for years or you’ve never walked through our doors, we want to help. That’s what neighbors do.”
Chief Financial is offering two immediate relief options to federal workers impacted by the shutdown:
Loan Payment Relief
- Skip or defer monthly loan payments for each month of the shutdown, up to three months
- No fees
- Simple process – just stop by any branch
- Some loan restrictions apply
Courtesy Cash Loan
- $500 loan, repayable over 13 months
- No credit check required
- Quick application at any branch
- $50 fee applies
All programs are available to current Chief Financial members and new members. Applications are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and same-day assistance is available.
