Dinner in the Dark is going virtual - raises awareness for visually impaired

Rochester Hills, MI - Chief Financial Credit Union once again supports Leader Dogs for the Blind’s annual Dinner in the Dark, but this year the highly-anticipated event is going virtual on March 12 at 7:30 p.m. Virtual Dinner in the Dark kits are designed for two people and include everything you need for your very own at home Dinner in the Dark! Attendees can join the live program on March 12 to enhance their experience, hearing from clients whose lives have been changed by Leader Dog.

“The work that Leader Dogs for the Blind does is truly empowering thousands of individuals to lead independent, successful lives,” said Tom Dluzen, Chief Financial president and CEO. “The pandemic has made the need to support Leader Dog more critical than ever, so they can continue to provide their services safely. We hope to help make this year’s Dinner in the Dark the most successful one yet.”

Virtual Dinner in the Dark includes two blindfolds, bibs, face masks, stemless wine glasses, a chef’s hat, menu, meal preparation card and more.

“Chief Financial Credit Union continues to exemplify the impact that corporate partners have on the community. Their continued support of Leader Dogs for the Blind increases our ability to serve more people who are blind or visually impaired. Right now, Leader Dog is one of the few organizations that serve people who are blind that has found a way to safely serve clients through the pandemic. Chief’s support has been integral in our ability to continue serving all of our clients free of charge,” said Dani Landolt, Chief Marketing Officer.
