Chief Financial expands Rochester area footprint with branch expansion into Downtown Rochester

Rochester, MI - Chief Financial Credit Union officially announced that it will break ground on a branch expansion into Downtown Rochester, MI, in Spring of 2021. This project will mark the culmination of the ‘Chief Credit Union Campus’ which will include Chief’s headquarter building located just east of its new 515 address.

Chief’s Rochester branch will be located at 515 South Rochester Road in what was formerly the US Scuba Diving Center. Procuring the location has been a labor of love for the Chief team, ensuring that this ‘entrance to Downtown Rochester’ remains a vibrant part of the community.

“When we moved our headquarters to the Rochester area in 2015, we were welcomed with open arms,” said Tom Dluzen, Chief President and CEO of Chief Financial. “As we’ve continued to grow into other communities, it made sense for us to expand our footprint in the community we call home with a new branch right in Downtown Rochester.”

Since its founding in Oakland County in 1941, Chief Financial has been committed to its members and the community. Originally headquartered in Pontiac, Chief has expanded over the years to include its Birmingham, Pontiac, Dearborn and Rochester Hills locations.

The Rochester Area has become an essential part of their business, partnering with local nonprofits as well as becoming the official credit union of both Leader Dogs for the Blind and Rochester University.

Chief’s 515 Branch will pay tribute to US Scuba with a custom-made art piece crafted from the diving center’s former signage designed for the Chief lobby. In addition to branch services, Chief also has a few other surprises planned for the location making it a true destination spot for the community.

“US Scuba Center is proud to turn the keys of our beautiful home and building over to Chief Financial Credit Union who will continue the goal of service to the Community, valuing friendships and relationships,” said US Scuba Co-Owners Heather Sellick, Ph.D. and Bud Uren, Cpt. “We hope this special landmark location, the entryway to Rochester and Rochester Hills will be as successful and gratifying to Chief Financial as it was to US Scuba Center.”

Dluzen added, “We are excited to continue to share all of the elements of this new branch in the coming months. We are certain the community, and those coming to Downtown Rochester will want to stop in and see what all the talk is about when we open our doors.”

Construction on the Chief “515 Branch” is expected to be complete in late 2021.
